Yoga Classes

The beauty of Yoga is that everyone can practice, regardless of age, gender, religious background and physical condition. And once you start, you can take it with you for the rest of your life. No matter where you are; all you need is a small empty space and a yoga mat.

Physical exercise or performing poses (called Asanas) represents only a small part of the entire yoga system. Asana practice works the deepest tissues of the body that regular exercise can’t do, rejuvenating, improving digestion and circulation, restoring flexibility, stretching all the muscles of your body and giving a massages to the internal organs allowing its optimal functioning. There is a yoga position to assist any organ of the body and every single system: skeleton, muscular, circulatory, digestive, reproductive, nervous, immune and endocrine system. At a mental and psychological level, the benefits are undeniable. Probably the most wonderful gift yoga practice can offer is that yogis and yoginis learn how to stay calm and almost unaffected under difficult situations in life.

Even thought the practitioner may be in a group, the practice is most of the time a “solo” and an introspective practice; a very intimate encounter with her or himself, enjoying their own company, meeting their own challenges. Each participant listens and respects her/his own body and fix her/his own boundaries. The yoga instructor is only a facilitator of the self-discovery journey.

Yoga for Health & Healing offers yoga classes in small groups and as private tuition, for beginners and more experienced practitioners.

Yoga for Kids & Teenagers

 yogakids

Children and teenagers can enjoy an activity that it’s not competitive yet challenges their mental and physical abilities. It is proven that students, who are practicing yoga at least twice a week, have higher grades than their classmates who are not yoga practitioners. Yoga helps not only with focus and concentration, but also with their fragile self-esteem & body image, suppressed emotions, mood swings and general attitude in life.

Yoga classes for kids and teens are ideal as Extra-Curriculum Activities, therefore they are tipically conducted at schools, clubs and recreation centers. Classes are ludic and funny; the whole idea is to learn the fundamentals of yoga (poses, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques) with creative games, props and music, assuring that students are always motivated to come back to their mats!

Yoga Classes for Elderly

elderlyYoga has a lot to offer no matter what stage of your life you are in.

Regular practice encourages all parts of your body to function more efficiently and therefore you feel rejuvenated. It helps to increase/maintain flexibility and to improve circulation.

If you are 60+ you will probably feel more comfortable in a small group with people of the same age, sharing the same concerns about your physical ability.  A soft & gentle Hatha Yoga class for seniors is what you need.
