Yoga Theraphy

It’s not about curing symptoms. It’s about healing from the core!

yoga-theraphyDespite de fact that Gauri has been trained in Western Psychology, her personal experience and latest studies in the East - specially in South India and Singapore- have changed completely the way she understands mental and physical illness, psychosomatic dis-ease, pain and suffering.

According to Western therapies, the body and the mind are studied in a fragmented way, sometimes totally independently… The soul or spirit is simply absent and has no relevance into the diagnosis. In Yoga Therapy however, medical, psychological and spiritual needs are all dealt under an integrated and holistic model. The client/patient takes responsibility of his/her condition and is encouraged to make all the necessary changes in her/his lifestyle, to enquiry her/his belief system and to be proactive in the self-healing process initiated with the guidance of the yoga therapist.

Hatha Yoga is incorporated as a supportive practice into the treatment, yet it does not comprise of the main element of the therapy. The yoga therapist is only a facilitator and a guide for the most intimate healing journey and process of Self-discovery.

Yoga Therapy for Psychosomatic Diseases

theraphy1 Besides the most obvious benefit of bringing peace and restoring balance into your life, yoga therapy can be a very effective physical exercise for the ones who experience certain restrictions or limitations, such as back pains, asthma, obesity, menstrual disorders, respiratory problems, hypertension, arthritis, etc. Yoga therapy adapts to these limitations and specific conditions but also explores the unique differences and personal talents of each client/patient.

Yoga Therapy works with most of the psychosomatic diseases and stress related disturbances. Each session (1 hour 15 min) is tailored respecting your physical and/or psychological limitations. The therapist designs a yoga sequence which includes breathing exercises, adapted Asana practice, restorative poses and deep relaxation techniques.

Sessions can be conducted at the privacy of your home.
